The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Sumter, SC is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that is just, sustainable, and accessible for all. This transformative program offers a hands-on, six-month experiential learning opportunity at the Allegheny Farm, where Fellows engage in organic food system education and community initiatives. Participants will have the chance to cultivate diverse crops, lead innovative health education workshops, maintain community gardens, and incorporate food and ecological literacy into educational settings. Additionally, the Fellowship supports collaborations with local food coalitions and direct-to-consumer programs, enhancing access to healthy food options in the region. Through a Community Action Year following their training, selected Fellows apply their knowledge and skills in partnership with regional non-profits. We encourage those interested to apply by March for a unique experience that runs from May to October.
