About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Travelers Rest, SC, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates and educators for a just food system. By sponsoring and training passionate individuals, we equip Fellows with the knowledge and experience necessary to promote socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable practices. Our program offers a comprehensive organic food system education without charging tuition, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring change-makers. Throughout a transformative six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus in Highland County, VA, selected Fellows engage in hands-on experiences, including growing diversified crops, managing community gardens, and conducting innovative educational sessions. They also collaborate with local non-profits during a Community Action Year to implement vital programs that enhance food access, support regional farmers markets, and contribute to community food initiatives. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship typically running from May to October.
