About Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program

The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in Union, SC, is dedicated to empowering individuals and families through hands-on nutrition education. In partnership with the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture and Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service, EFNEP focuses on enhancing diet quality and physical activity, effective food resource management, food safety, and food security. Our comprehensive program features ten interactive sessions tailored to meet the unique needs of each participant, whether in group settings or one-on-one. Participants learn how to plan quick and healthy meals, prepare nutritious recipes in engaging cooking classes, maintain food safety, and save money on groceries, all while becoming more physically active. We proudly serve a diverse audience, including children, youth, and families with limited financial resources, who are also eligible for various Food Assistance programs such as WIC and SNAP.
