At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Union, SC, we are dedicated to fostering a just and sustainable food system through hands-on training and empowerment. Our program sponsors individuals as they immerse themselves in organic food system education and advocate for equitable practices throughout the community. With no tuition fees, we prioritize accessibility for all aspiring fellows. Participants engage in diverse initiatives such as growing and distributing crops on market-style farms, facilitating educational sessions focused on innovative health care, and enhancing food literacy in schools. They support local farmers' markets, develop distribution channels for healthy food access, and collaborate with community organizations, all while mentoring the next generation of food advocates. Our immersive, six-month fellowship experience at Allegheny Farm culminates in a Community Action Year, where fellows apply their learning to make a meaningful impact within regional non-profits. Applications are accepted until March, with programs running from May to October each year.
