About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Westminster, SC, cultivates passionate advocates for a just food system through comprehensive training and experiential learning in sustainable agriculture. This innovative program, sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, empowers Fellows to explore organic food systems while promoting environmental stewardship and social equity. By participating in hands-on farming and educational initiatives, Fellows learn to grow and distribute varied crops, enhance community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into local curricula. The Fellowship not only provides tuition-free access to critical training but also ensures participants engage deeply with community partners to foster healthier local food access. With a six-month immersive residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus followed by a year of impactful community service, applicants are encouraged to submit their applications by March each year for the May to October experience.
