The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in York, SC, provides a transformative opportunity for aspiring leaders in sustainable food systems. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship cultivates educators and advocates committed to fostering a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program offers comprehensive training without tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. Fellows engage in hands-on experiences, learning to grow and distribute a variety of organic crops on a market-style farm, implement innovative health education sessions, and integrate food and ecological literacy in schools. Additionally, they support community gardens, enhance local farmers markets, and work collaboratively with regional non-profits during their Community Action Year.
