The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Milton, WI, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates and educators committed to creating a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship empowers participants through comprehensive organic food system education and practical experience on a market-style farm. Our commitment to accessibility is evident as we do not charge tuition for this transformative program. Over six months, selected Fellows engage in hands-on training that includes growing and distributing diverse crops, leading community gardening initiatives, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational settings. They also support innovative healthcare educational sessions, enhance farmers markets, and help establish channels to improve access to healthy foods. Following their immersive training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year where they apply their skills with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May through October, fostering a collaborative spirit and a passion for sustainable food practices.
