The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Augusta, WV, empowers aspiring leaders to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship provides a unique opportunity for selected Fellows to engage in six months of hands-on learning at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they receive comprehensive education in organic food systems. Throughout the fellowship, participants work collaboratively to grow and distribute diverse crops, establish community gardens, and teach important food and ecological literacy in local schools. Additionally, they support farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives while mentoring future generations of advocates. The program is designed to ensure accessibility, with no tuition charges, inviting individuals to apply by March each year for a transformative experience running from May to October, ultimately fostering healthier communities and enhancing access to nutritious food across the region.
