About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Branchland, WV, is dedicated to empowering the next generation of advocates for equitable and sustainable food systems. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship offers a transformative six-month immersive training at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where Fellows learn essential skills in organic agriculture and community engagement without the burden of tuition fees. During their time with us, Fellows gain hands-on experience in activities such as growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing innovative health education, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in local schools. Following their training, Fellows participate in a Community Action Year, partnering with regional non-profits to continue their work in food access and justice. Our mission is to cultivate leaders who are committed to fostering a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just, and we invite passionate individuals to apply by March to embark on this meaningful journey.
