Wisewoman is dedicated to empowering low-income women in Buckhannon, WV, aged 40 to 64 who are under or uninsured, by providing essential resources for improving their health and well-being. Our program focuses on lifestyle changes that can prevent and manage cardiovascular and other chronic diseases. Participants receive comprehensive support, including health measurements like height, weight, and blood pressure evaluation, as well as lab tests for cholesterol and glucose levels. If results indicate elevated health risks, follow-up visits are available. We assist individuals in setting achievable health goals while offering education on making positive lifestyle choices, including quitting smoking, improving nutrition, and increasing physical activity. Additionally, we provide referrals to local community resources to support sustained health improvements. Together, we strive to foster a healthier future for women in our community.
