About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Culloden, WV, offers a transformative opportunity for individuals passionate about advocating for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, our program empowers Fellows through comprehensive, tuition-free organic food system education at the beautiful Allegheny Farm Campus. Over six immersive months, participants engage in hands-on experiences that include growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing innovative health care education, managing community and school gardens, and fostering food literacy within educational settings. After this foundational training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year where they apply their skills in partnership with regional non-profit organizations to enhance access to healthy foods and support grassroots food initiatives. We invite aspiring advocates to apply by March each year, with our program typically running from May to October, ensuring a welcoming and impactful experience in the heart of our community.
