About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Dunbar, WV, we are committed to fostering a sustainable and just food system through hands-on education and community engagement. Our program empowers Fellows by providing them with the knowledge and skills needed to advocate for organic practices and equitable food access. During a transformative six-month residency at AMI's Allegheny Farm, participants gain practical experience in growing a diverse range of crops, conducting educational workshops on health care innovation, and supporting local farmer's markets. Following this immersive training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, where they collaborate with regional non-profits to apply their learning and promote food and ecological literacy, ensuring that healthy food is accessible to all. We believe in making this opportunity accessible, which is why we do not charge tuition and encourage aspiring advocates to apply by March each year to start their journey in May.
