Over six months, selected Fellows engage in hands-on learning at the Allegheny Farm, gaining expertise in organic farming practices, food distribution, and educational outreach. They collaborate with local partners to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement health-focused educational sessions, maintain community gardens, and promote food and ecological literacy in schools. Following their intensive training, Fellows spend a Community Action Year applying their skills with regional non-profits, further enhancing food access and fostering community resilience. Applications are open until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
