About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
Located in Fayetteville, WV, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to advocate for a food system rooted in social, environmental, and economic justice. Through our comprehensive program, we provide organic food system education and hands-on experiences at our Allegheny Farm Campus. Fellowship participants immerse themselves in sustainable agricultural practices, engage with community partners to grow and distribute diversified crops, and implement innovative educational initiatives that promote food and ecological literacy. Additionally, Fellows support farmers markets, enhance access to healthy foods, and mentor future leaders in the community. This immersive six-month fellowship culminates in a Community Action Year where participants collaborate with regional non-profit organizations to apply their skills in real-world settings. We are committed to making our fellowship accessible and welcoming, with no tuition fees required. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the Fellowship experience running from May to October.
