At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Follansbee, WV, we are dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates who will champion a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, our program provides a vibrant, hands-on education in organic food systems, entirely free of tuition to ensure accessibility for all. Over the course of six months, selected Fellows immerse themselves in experiential learning at our scenic Allegheny Farm Campus, where they will gain the skills to grow diversified crops, facilitate health-oriented educational sessions, and maintain community gardens. Following their training, Fellows engage in a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to enhance food access through farmers markets, direct-to-consumer programs, and community food coalition activities. We invite passionate individuals to apply and contribute to creating a more equitable food landscape in our region, with applications due each March for the program running from May to October.
