About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Gerrardstown, WV, we are dedicated to fostering a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, our program provides aspiring advocates and educators with the training they need to lead initiatives in organic agriculture and community engagement. Through our six-month experiential learning experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows receive hands-on education in organic food systems and work towards innovative solutions that support health, food access, and ecological literacy. Our network collaborates with local partners to grow diversified crops, run school gardens, enhance farmers markets, and expand access to nutritious foods. With no tuition fees, we prioritize accessibility, ensuring that passionate individuals can join us in advancing food justice. Applications are accepted until March, and the fellowship typically runs from May to October, culminating in a transformative Community Action Year where participants apply their skills with regional non-profits.
