Fellows engage in hands-on learning focused on organic agriculture and sustainable practices during their immersive six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm. Participants collaborate with local partners to cultivate diverse crops, develop community gardens, and enhance food literacy in schools. They also play a vital role in supporting farmers markets and creating channels for healthy food access across the region. Following their residency, Fellows enter a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in partnership with regional non-profits to foster lasting change in their communities. Applications are welcomed annually until March, with the fellowship experience commencing in May.
