About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Inwood, WV, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates and educators committed to building a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this transformative program focuses on organic food system education and empowers Fellows to engage in vital community initiatives. During their six-month experiential journey at the Allegheny Farm Campus, participants learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health education sessions, maintain school and community gardens, and foster food literacy among students. After this immersive training, Fellows transition into a Community Action Year where they collaborate with regional non-profit organizations to enhance access to healthy foods and support local farmers' markets. With no tuition fees, the Fellowship promotes inclusivity and provides vital skills necessary for leading meaningful change in food systems. Applications are welcomed until March each year for the program running from May to October.
