The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Mount Hope, WV, cultivates passionate advocates for a just food system through comprehensive training and empowerment. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship prioritizes accessibility by offering tuition-free education in organic food systems. Over a six-month period at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows engage in experiential learning while developing skills to foster social, environmental, and economic justice in food production. Opportunities include growing and distributing diverse crops, leading innovative health education sessions, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in schools. Fellows also support farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs, mentor future cohorts, and collaborate with regional non-profits during their Community Action Year. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
