Located in Mount Hope, WV, Wisewoman is dedicated to empowering low-income women aged 40 to 64 who are underinsured or uninsured. Our mission is to provide vital knowledge and resources that help women improve their diets, physical activity, and lifestyle choices to prevent and manage cardiovascular and chronic diseases. Through our program, participants receive comprehensive health assessments including measurements of height, weight, and blood pressure, as well as lab tests for cholesterol and glucose levels. We offer follow-up visits for any concerning results and assist in setting realistic health goals. With a strong focus on education, we guide women in making informed lifestyle changes, such as adopting healthier eating habits, quitting smoking, and increasing physical activity. Additionally, we connect participants with local community resources to further support their journey towards better health.
