About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Ravenswood, WV, offers a transformative opportunity for individuals committed to fostering a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this Fellowship empowers participants through comprehensive training in organic food system education, enabling them to become advocates and educators in their communities. Selected Fellows engage in a six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm, where they learn practical skills in crop diversification, community gardening, and food distribution, while also developing educational programs that promote health literacy. This hands-on training is followed by a Community Action Year, during which Fellows apply their knowledge in collaboration with local non-profits, enhancing access to nutritious food and supporting initiatives such as farmers markets and community coalitions. With no tuition fees, our Fellowship prioritizes inclusivity, welcoming passionate individuals to join in creating sustainable food systems that benefit all.
