About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Ripley, WV, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to become advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through comprehensive, hands-on education at the Allegheny Farm, selected Fellows engage in organic food system practices while gaining invaluable experience. Our program promotes accessibility by eliminating tuition costs, ensuring that passion for sustainable agriculture reaches all. Fellows will immerse themselves in practical experiences, including growing and distributing diverse crops, conducting educational health care sessions, maintaining community and school gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into everyday activities. The Fellowship culminates in a Community Action Year where participants apply their skills with local non-profits, bolstering community engagement and food accessibility initiatives. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
