The WISEWOMAN Program, part of the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, is dedicated to empowering low-income and uninsured women aged 40 to 64 in Ripley, WV. Our mission is to provide essential health education and skills to enhance diet and physical activity, ultimately preventing and managing cardiovascular and chronic diseases. Participants receive comprehensive services including health assessments that measure height, weight, and blood pressure, laboratory tests for cholesterol and glucose levels, and personalized follow-up visits if needed. We support women in setting achievable health goals and offer valuable education on making healthier lifestyle choices, such as quitting smoking and improving nutrition. Additionally, we connect participants with local community resources to facilitate their journey towards better health.
