About WISEWOMAN Program
The WISEWOMAN Program, part of the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, is dedicated to empowering low-income, underinsured, or uninsured women aged 40 to 64 in Saint Albans, WV. Our mission is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance their diets, engage in physical activity, and adopt healthier lifestyle choices to prevent and manage cardiovascular and chronic diseases. We offer comprehensive health education, measurements of height, weight, and blood pressure, and laboratory tests for cholesterol and glucose levels. If elevated results are found, we ensure follow-up visits to support your health journey. We also assist in setting realistic health goals, provide resources for quitting smoking, improving nutrition, and boosting physical activity, and connect women to local community resources that facilitate lasting lifestyle changes. We are here to support your path to health and wellness.
