Located in Scott Depot, WV, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to become passionate advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Our program, offered by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, provides comprehensive education on organic food systems without any tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all potential Fellows. Participants gain hands-on experience through a six-month immersive residency at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health care education, maintain community and school gardens, and enhance food and ecological literacy among students. Following their residency, Fellows engage in a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to improve access to healthy foods and support local food initiatives. Applications are accepted through March each year, with the program running from May to October.
