The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, hosted by the Allegheny Mountain Institute in Shady Spring, WV, is dedicated to empowering individuals to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through our no-tuition model, we ensure that our program is accessible to all committed applicants. Over a six-month immersive experience on our Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows receive comprehensive training in organic food systems, community gardening, and nutrition education, preparing them to lead innovative health initiatives and support local farmers markets. Following their training, participants embark on a Community Action Year, applying their skills with regional nonprofits while promoting food literacy and enhancing access to healthy foods. This fellowship is not just about learning; it's about making a tangible impact in the community, fostering relationships, and mentoring future leaders. Applications are open until March each year for the program, which runs from May to October.
