Wisewoman is dedicated to empowering low-income and uninsured women aged 40 to 64 in Sutton, WV, by equipping them with essential knowledge and skills to enhance their health and well-being. Our program focuses on preventing and managing cardiovascular and other chronic diseases through a comprehensive approach that includes vital health measurements, such as height, weight, and blood pressure checks, alongside laboratory tests for cholesterol and glucose levels. Participants receive personalized follow-up care if their results indicate a need, along with guidance in setting achievable health goals. We provide valuable education on making healthier lifestyle choices, such as improving diet, increasing physical activity, and quitting smoking, as well as referrals to community resources that further support their journey toward better health.
