About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Washington, WV, is dedicated to empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. Through our partnership with the Allegheny Mountain Institute at the beautiful Allegheny Farm Campus, we offer a tuition-free program that ensures accessibility to transformative organic food system education. Our Fellows engage in hands-on experiences such as growing and distributing a variety of crops, facilitating innovative wellness education, managing community gardens, and promoting food literacy in schools. Additionally, they play essential roles in supporting farmers markets and developing channels to enhance access to healthy food. Following a six-month immersive training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to apply their knowledge and skills. Interested participants are encouraged to submit their applications by March each year for an enriching experience that runs from May to October.
