The WISEWOMAN Program, part of the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, is dedicated to empowering low-income, uninsured, and underinsured women ages 40 to 64 in Weirton, WV to enhance their health and well-being. This vital program equips participants with essential health education, providing comprehensive services such as height, weight, and blood pressure measurements, along with cholesterol and glucose screenings. Our goal is to support women in preventing and managing cardiovascular and chronic diseases through personalized follow-up, goal-setting for improved health, and guidance on making sustainable lifestyle changes, including improved nutrition, increased physical activity, and strategies to quit smoking. Additionally, we offer referrals to local community resources to further assist women in their journey toward healthier living.
