The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Williamson, WV, is dedicated to shaping future leaders who advocate for a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship offers a unique opportunity to engage in organic food system education without any tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. During a transformative six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows gain hands-on experience in diverse agricultural practices, community gardening, and food literacy. They will also implement innovative health care educational sessions and support local farmers markets, direct-to-consumer programs, and community food coalitions. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with non-profits to apply their knowledge and foster increased access to healthy foods throughout the region. Applications are open until March, with the fellowship experience running from May to October each year.
