About Healing Wings South Africa

Healing Wings, a sober living home in South Africa, provides structured support for individuals maintaining long-term sobriety. Founded in November 2016 by Jody and Bronwyn Van Jaarsveldt, counselors with over a decade of personal sobriety experience, the facility began as St George's Halfway House and reintegration home to guide those who have completed primary rehabilitation programs. Upon arrival, residents undergo an Individualized Reintegration Plan assessment, allowing staff to create personalized treatment plans tailored to specific needs and goals. The comprehensive program includes 12-Step facilitation, weekly individual counseling, and group therapy sessions. Daily activities incorporate household responsibilities, educational lessons covering topics like forgiveness and codependency, lectures, fitness activities, and community service opportunities with various charities. Staff members actively support unemployed residents in their job search efforts. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood of Johannesburg, Healing Wings St. Georges offers upscale accommodations designed for comfort, featuring modern decor, comfortable furnishings, and a fully equipped kitchen. Residents benefit from meals prepared by an in-house chef, with optional laundry service available for an additional fee. The facility includes amenities such as an on-site gym and large outdoor pool. Throughout its history, Healing Wings has successfully supported hundreds of individuals on their recovery journey.
