Day 20: Psalm 143 - Lead Me on Level Ground
Take a moment to close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Then open your eyes and slowly read and pray today's psalm in the image above.
Ask God to hear your prayer because he is faithful and righteous (1-2). Then tell God whether your struggles are crushing you to the ground and causing your spirit to grow faint (3-4).
Consider how you experience your need, perhaps like thirst in a dry and parched land (6). If you feel urgency in your distress, ask for God's quick help (7-8).
The psalmist appeals to God's character: his faithfulness, righteousness, and unfailing love. Ask God to step into your circumstances because of who he is, and to lead you (8-10). Conclude your time by praying through the entire psalm.
As you finish this path, thank God for meeting you in your lament over these 20 days.
