Sometimes our emotions really do feel overwhelming, and like they come out of nowhere, and that they are out of our control. Most of the time, if we sit down and think about it, though, we can find the triggers to our emotional state within our thoughts. When you are sad, what are you thinking about? Are they thoughts about yourself, school, work, your friends? We often have to take some time out, take care of ourselves and try and make like a detective to discover what it's all really about. Instead of one big tangled mess of emotion, we can, with the proper tools, enough space, energy and support, untangle each individual thread to figure out where it's all coming from, and how to begin to work on our emotions.
