It’s okay not to know your purpose right now. This can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t mean you are doing anything wrong. Sometimes, it takes time and a lot of quiet moments to begin noticing what is calling you. You don’t have to have it all figured out, and since you are searching about it is already something meaningful. Remember, it's okay to take this at your own pace. I remember when I found my purpose at first, I didn't realize it then I saw how it made me feel. It was the reason I woke up while everyone was asleep. I didn't care about money or recognition. I just needed to be part of it, and it makes me happy.

Finding your purpose is life is a uphill journey, one that does not always come naturally or easy. However, it is what drives passion, fuels our motivation, and provides meaning to our life. To know your purpose is to know what makes you feel fufilled when your head reaches the pillow at the end of the night. It can be the smallest of things but it is so crucial to our well-being. When finding your purpose you should reflect upon the core values you take into every day. The things that guide your life. And upon reflection, there is normally a silver lining, a feeling or activity that for some reason you feel better after doing it. Maybe your purpose is to help other, maybe to spread kindness, shed light on difficult topics, whatever it is, you will know based on the feelings you get from doing it. It can be subtle, it does not always have to make you feel like you are moving mountains. But it is that little birdy sitting on your shoulder guiding you through life keeping you motivated.

I think purpose isn’t something you just find—it’s something you build through your experiences, passions, and struggles. Some things to consider are: What excites you? What makes you feel live? What do you constantly think about? Or what do you keep coming back to? When have you felt the most fulfilled? Or even proud of yourself? Are you being held back from fears or doubts? What would you want to do? Purpose isn’t always about one life-changing mission. Sometimes it’s about the small things—helping someone, creating something, learning, growing, or just surviving and seeing what happens next. You don’t have to have it all figured out right now. Focus on what keeps you going today.

There can be an overwhelming sense of urgency to “find your life’s purpose”. This kind of pressure can be a significant source of stress and anxiety. First, it’s important to take a step back, breathe, and remember that there’s no deadline for finding your purpose. Also, nothing is set in stone–you are free to change your purpose as many times as necessary to better align with who you are as you grow throughout life. Now, onto finding your purpose: it might help to define what “purpose” actually means to you. Is it a long-term singular goal? Or multiple smaller goals that will add up into something greater. Is it something tangible or more abstract? Is it related to a job, family, charity, a personal goal like travelling or a talent like playing a musical instrument? How would you like to measure it? Take some time to think generally about what “purpose” means to you, and how you’ll know when it feels meaningful and satisfying. This general exploration can remove some of the pressure, while also guiding you toward a more specific idea of what your life’s purpose might be. Reflect specifically on what truly is important to you–whether it’s something you’re already doing or a dream you haven’t yet pursued. There is no wrong answer and nothing is off limits! Don’t rush the process of finding your life’s purpose; this stage is both important and fulfilling in itself. Good luck!

To start with, understand that a lot of people are in the same boat as you. Many may not understand their purpose in life, but it is completely okay to feel this way. This feeling is common among people because we all have varied experiences that shape us. What purpose means can differ for all of us as we have a unique set of strengths. Do we know what we are good at? Your purpose can gradually come to light as you experience events and feelings (which is also a major part of what makes it abstract). In addition, you can feel as if there are multiple purposes in life as opposed to one grand purpose (which may feel overwhelming to try to grasp). A few things that can help you get a feel for your “purpose” in life come with self-reflection. What do you care about or feel strongly for? Is there anything in life that gives you meaning? Is there anything specific you have a great desire for? Self-reflection will help you look for a deeper meaning in your life. And while it may not be a lightbulb moment of finding your purpose, it can guide you on the right path. Just remember that the path is not linear. Ups and downs are natural, but you will get through it. You are welcome to speak through your thought process and emotions with one of our listeners at 7 Cups for 1-1 private chat. I also invite you to make use of community rooms such as "Sharing Circle", "Positivity and Gratitude Room" to speak through your experience, which will be responded to with patience and compassion.
