My sister stayed with the manw ho sexually assauktes me even though she knows about it.

...See more It breaks my heart that my sister stayed with the man who not only betrayed my trust but also my family's trust. The sad thing is all the adults in my immediate family act like nothing happen so when he's at family events nothing would be uncomfortable. Not only am I still affected by what he did despite it being 2 and half years since it happened, I'm also disappointed in my own family. I barely got any support from them during my trauma, and my grandmother had the nerve to tell me to pretend like nothing happen for my sister's sake. She didn't say those exact words but that's pretty much she was saying to me when I told her that I don't want to be around him. I also told my mother about it too only because she asked why I wanted to spend a few months away from home to be with my boyfriend (he lives 3 hours away). I have to see the man who sexually assaulted once a week at church and my mom told me to just go to another church. So pretty much I have to leave the congregation I grew up in just so this man can be there and I won't have to see him. When I leave my hometown, I may just stay away permanently. The only ones I'll really miss is my best friend who is like a sister to me and my younger cousins. I'm so disappointed in my family, they would rather keep the no good men around but try to scare off the ones who are. I just gotta get away, I can't take anymore.

How to deal with my mom still treating me like a child?

...See more To start off, I'm 21 years old and I'm in my 3rd year at a community college. I will be graduating next year with my AS degree in Business & Technology. Lately, I've been getting frustrated with my mom treating me like a child even when I'm amongst other adults. I do live with my parents, I respect them, and abide by their rules. I was financially independent to some degree, but was still financially dependent on them in some ways. I had a job, but I had to resign due to getting little work hours, not making enough money to fully support myself financially, and to finish my education. My brother who is 24 years old lives with us as well, but he's not doing anything productive in his life, yet my parents treat him like an adult than me. He's not in school, and he's not working either, he just sits around the house all day playing video games. I do most of the household chores, and my parents always ask me to help them out, but rarely ask my brother to do anything. The only time I'm treated like an adult is when I'm with my boyfriend or my best friend. I would talk to my mom about it, but she won't hear me out, and just expect me to just take her advice (she's done it in the past when I've talked to her about other things). I feel like if I keep putting up with this I'm going to lose my temper, which I rarely ever do. How can I deal with this without losing my mind?
