My sister stayed with the manw ho sexually assauktes me even though she knows about it.
It breaks my heart that my sister stayed with the man who not only betrayed my trust but also my family's trust. The sad thing is all the adults in my immediate family act like nothing happen so when he's at family events nothing would be uncomfortable. Not only am I still affected by what he did despite it being 2 and half years since it happened, I'm also disappointed in my own family. I barely got any support from them during my trauma, and my grandmother had the nerve to tell me to pretend like nothing happen for my sister's sake. She didn't say those exact words but that's pretty much she was saying to me when I told her that I don't want to be around him. I also told my mother about it too only because she asked why I wanted to spend a few months away from home to be with my boyfriend (he lives 3 hours away). I have to see the man who sexually assaulted once a week at church and my mom told me to just go to another church. So pretty much I have to leave the congregation I grew up in just so this man can be there and I won't have to see him. When I leave my hometown, I may just stay away permanently. The only ones I'll really miss is my best friend who is like a sister to me and my younger cousins. I'm so disappointed in my family, they would rather keep the no good men around but try to scare off the ones who are. I just gotta get away, I can't take anymore.

I totally understand why you want to leave, your close family is being really unsupportive and they don't seem to get how uncomfortable you must feel aroud the man who hurt you. I'm so sorry you had to go through the abuse, plus having to deal with this by yourself because your relatives don't treat it as a problem and you're forced to stay away from your church instead of being able to heal surrounded by support. Have you reported the thing to the authorities? Is leaving something you are actually planning to do or just a potential way to escape from this situation?
@Ila it's something I actually plan to do, not as means to escape. I can't properly heal with him still being around. No, I would of reported him if my sister hadn't decided to stay with him.

That totally makes sense, having reported him while your sister was with him could have caused a lot of mess, pain and drama. How do you feel about leaving? It could be so relieving yet frustrating thinking about all your disappointment and your family's behaviour :/
