How to deal with my mom still treating me like a child?

To start off, I'm 21 years old and I'm in my 3rd year at a community college. I will be graduating next year with my AS degree in Business & Technology. Lately, I've been getting frustrated with my mom treating me like a child even when I'm amongst other adults. I do live with my parents, I respect them, and abide by their rules. I was financially independent to some degree, but was still financially dependent on them in some ways. I had a job, but I had to resign due to getting little work hours, not making enough money to fully support myself financially, and to finish my education. My brother who is 24 years old lives with us as well, but he's not doing anything productive in his life, yet my parents treat him like an adult than me. He's not in school, and he's not working either, he just sits around the house all day playing video games. I do most of the household chores, and my parents always ask me to help them out, but rarely ask my brother to do anything. The only time I'm treated like an adult is when I'm with my boyfriend or my best friend. I would talk to my mom about it, but she won't hear me out, and just expect me to just take her advice (she's done it in the past when I've talked to her about other things). I feel like if I keep putting up with this I'm going to lose my temper, which I rarely ever do. How can I deal with this without losing my mind?

Indeed babies are always going to be babies in the eyes of parents. They will always try to give you advice and yoy can listen to it and practice it or just listen and make your own desitions. The biggest issue is your brother (it's a little bit harsh of me but is the thing that i sense) that is just there without a clear view of what maturity is or the compromises and responsabilities that sons and daughters have with their parents while we still live with them. He need a hige wake up call from you (loose your temper if you feel so. It's something messy but probably woulf make you loose some weight of yourselfe) in the other hand thos year is ending so fast that in no time you would be the responsible adult that you already are. Mothers always call (or it's a latin thing? My mom always call me wherever i go out but trust in me althought i have messed up big time) try to talk to them by separet ways, explain them how you feel and in that this step of being adult, you need them but no to hold your hand while you tremble, but to see you standing up again as a grown up if you fall.

Hard to say because all the people are so different. I mean, in such cases it's better to visit specialists. I'm a parent now and I buy swimming Pampers splashers for my boy with my wife and I hope we won't be annoying parents in the future.
