...See more My significant other has suffered from depression for years. He’s had counseling in the past but is currently choosing not to. He desperately seems to want social activity but he can’t stand people at the same time. If they say anything he disagrees with he will make it a full blown argument. He constantly claims he’s sick of being the bad guy but from the outside looking in he absolutely is…he’s even starting to lash out at our closest friends who he’s known for years. In our gaming groups he always says he hates being the leader but then gets mad if people don’t do what he says. At this point our closest friends don’t want to spend time with him for their own well being. I can’t make him understand that he won’t have friends if he doesn’t treat them well, he’ll just shut down. He refused to get counseling again even though it has helped him in the past. I don’t know what to do or say to help him. I already give him all of my time other than work. I even do activities and play games I don’t want to because he has no one else.

...See more My boyfriend and I have been together for three and a half years. He’s a type 1 diabetic that suffers from anxiety and depression. The fact is he is always miserable. He doesn't listen to anybody and is pretty sure he is always right and when he’s not he wants to kill himself. He had a counselor and psychiatrist and was even in some medicine that greatly improved his mood and it seemed great for a time. Then out of no where he decided to stop taking those meds claiming he’d rather feel sad than like a puppet. Now he just sleeps and plays video games. what’s worse is I feel like I’ve dug myself into a hole. We moved across the country because it was a dream we both had. But he hasn’t found a job after nearly two months and money is running low. I’m doing the best I can with my job but still having to pay bills on my credit cards. I do everything I can think of to make him happy but nothing helps. I beg for help around the house because I am so tired and get nothing. I don’t know anyone where we moved to so I don’t have anyone to turn to for help. I love him but I want to leave so bad because I am so sad. I want to be happy but his refusal to even try breaking me down. I’m so lost with no where to go. I can’t even talk to him about any of this without him shutting down and becoming suicidal.

...See more Long story short my boyfriend just isn’t fun to blame games with anymore. He constantly blames me and even his friends for simply not being good enough at games. None of us want to play with him but if we don’t he feels ignored get super depressed and just sleeps. An example is a game called league of legends. One night we did great at it and all was well, the next night we had a rough game and he immediately blamed my character, then the character we were fighting and then said he never wanted to play the game again. I wish I could tell him that he is overreacting and just being a baby. I wish I could tell him that none of us want to game with him because he sucks all the fun out of it. But if I do that it’ll only make him shut down. He’ll stop gaming, he won’t talk to friends, and he’ll just sleep. He has a therapist, he takes his daily medication...and yet I still can’t talk to him about this. It’s so frustrating.
