Bio

I’m currently studying an MSc in Psychological Therapies and Interventions, with the long-term goal of becoming a counselling psychologist. I’m empathetic, approachable, and interested in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where people feel listened to and supported. Through previous volunteering and support-based experiences, including working with children and completing specialist listening and support training, I’ve developed strong communication and active listening skills, and I’m hoping to continue building these while contributing positively to the 7 Cups community.

What If Two People Can Both Be Right?
IDG 7 Cups Hub / by Bhrigs

...See more One thing I’ve been thinking about recently is how easily we assume that our perspective is the reality of a situation. Two people can experience exactly the same conversation and walk away with completely different interpretations. One person might think they were being honest, while the other thinks they were being rude. Someone might believe they were giving another person space, while that person experiences it as being ignored. What makes this difficult is that neither person necessarily has to be lying or deliberately misunderstanding what happened. We experience situations through our own emotions, previous experiences, expectations and values. Something that seems insignificant to one person might carry a completely different meaning for someone else. I think perspective skills become especially important during disagreements. Instead of immediately trying to prove that our interpretation is correct, we can become curious about why the other person experienced the situation differently. Understanding their perspective doesn’t necessarily mean agreeing with it either. Maybe sometimes resolving conflict isn’t about deciding who was right and who was wrong. It can simply be recognising that the same situation looked completely different from the other side. Have you ever been completely certain you were right about a situation, only to understand it differently after hearing someone else’s perspective?

Do We Ever Fully Know Ourselves?
IDG 7 Cups Hub / by Bhrigs

...See more Self-awareness sounds simple because we spend every day with ourselves. We know what we like, what annoys us, what we’re good at and what we struggle with. But I’ve started wondering how much of ourselves we actually understand. Sometimes it takes another person pointing something out before we recognise a pattern in our own behaviour. We might think we handle criticism well until someone tells us we become defensive. We might see ourselves as independent without noticing how often we rely on reassurance from others. Our first instinct might even be to disagree because their version of us doesn’t match the version we have in our own head. I think this is where self-awareness becomes uncomfortable but also valuable. It isn’t just knowing your strengths and weaknesses. It’s being willing to question your own understanding of yourself. At the same time, I don’t think self-awareness means accepting every opinion someone has about you. Other people can misunderstand us too. Maybe the real skill is being able to hear something without immediately accepting or rejecting it, reflect on it honestly, and then decide whether there is something we can learn from it. Do you think we can ever see ourselves completely objectively, or will there always be parts of ourselves that other people can see more clearly than we can?

Does depression make you feel like you’re falling behind?

...See more Sometimes I think one of the hardest parts isn’t even feeling low, it’s watching everyone else seemingly carry on while you’re struggling to do things that normally wouldn’t take much thought. Do you ever feel guilty for not doing “enough”, even when you know you’re already trying?

When did “healthy” start feeling so complicated?

...See more I feel like healthy living gets turned into this massive checklist , gym, diet, sleep, productivity, mindfulness, everything at once. Sometimes just doing what makes you feel a little more human that day is enough.

...See more We often notice our achievements, but not always our personal growth. Sometimes the biggest changes happen quietly, in our mindset, reactions, or how we treat ourselves and others.

Feedback & Reviews
Extremely helpful!
Some people are exactly where they're exactly where they're supposed to be, and Bhrigs is meant for this role. I came into our conversation carrying the quiet conviction that rest was something to be earned. I left with a healthier understanding of my relationship to it. It wasn't a perspective I expected to find at 5am. If anyone deserves recognition here, it's them.
Thoughtful, attentive, empathetic! Highly recommended :)
