Need some help with feelings

...See more My better half is a recovering alcolholic and spent the last several months very sick due to drinking.  for several years.  I have had to endure his anger and depression which led to his drinking.  Don't get me wrong I love him very much but I have had feelings lately that bother me.  I do EVERYTHING in and around the house, work full time, pay bills, mow lawn, housework, cook, shop, literally everything.  I know since he was in the hospital and sick for well over a month he could not help but now he can pitch in.  For years due to being drunk daily, his has been NO help, but lately all I think about is this issue.  He has turned things around, health is improving and he is sober now for almost 3 months.  I am proud of him.  I guess I feel bad feeling this way.  I seems to not have a minute break.  I am still doing all the work and he has not worked since Sept.  I bring up him trying to help a bit, like empty dishwasher, change his own sheets, or help do something, but its not helping him to do anything.  What do you suggest???

...See more Hello Everyone, I hope this finds you well.  Quick question:  How do you ask a partner/husband for help with household chores/tasks?  I do 99% of all the work in the house.  This includes all cleaning, finances, outside yard work, cooking etc.  Today when my husband is off of work (has not had but 1 full week of work since last Oct. due to slow business), I tried to get him to take the dog to the vet.  Vet had appts. later in the afternoon, after I should be home from work and his comment was, well you will be home then right?  UGHHHHHHHH  How do I get him to help without upsetting him so much.  I mention I do all the work, I mention I am overwhelmed, I mention I need his help, but his needs/wants ALWAYS come first.  How do I get him to understand this.....

...See more Hello from VERY cold Michigan.... While I know I do not want to sound like a whiner, I still need to ask why I do not have any friends.  I honestly have no one outside of my better 1/2.  He is wonderful do not get me wrong, but I struggle to understand why I do not have friends.  I feel I am a good person, have a productive life, and am approachable.  Often while home, I wonder why I have no one to chat with, shop with, have lunch with etc outside of work.  I try to be a good listener, ask questions in a conversation but still I never get a friend who reaches out, asks for me to do something or comes to me for just friendship.  Any suggestions/ideas on who to fix this????

...See more Hello, I am Cheri and I am from downriver Michigan.  I struggle sometimes with self esteem and stress.  My life has some issues but overall I know others have it worse.  I am very much alone (no friends) and always looking for someone to talk to.  I am hoping to find others around my age 57 (ugh) to chat with.  Hope to find others.

...See more Just feeling a bit lonely today.  Life is crazy with work and home chores.  Looking to find a group of ladies interested in talking/meeting for lunch etc.  Is that crazy to ask online.   LOL.  Interested, in southeastern Michigan.

...See more Hello all, new here.  I have many things that seem to be adding to my daily stress.  I am dealing with a better half who is an alcoholic, my Dad just this week was entered into hospice, I am a teacher (middle school math), and Me and only me takes care of all household chores etc.  I believe I need an outlet to discuss freely these things but I do not have one.  I have very few friends and do not feel close enough to them to discuss all of this.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
