...See more Today, I will be telling you some interesting facts about NOSTRADAMUS and his predictions. Nostradamus was a french astrologer and physician in the 1500s. Media has got us all hooked to the news that he has been right about his predictions from the very start. He predicted the two world wars, 9/11 attacks and even this pandemic. And further predicted about a zombie apocalypse. But wait, THERE IS A CATCH. 1-- Nostradamus' predictions were used as World War II's propoganda YES, things were the other way around. Nostradamus' predictions had something to do with Germany losing a battle and it was used by some man in power to his advantage. He printed thousands of pamphlets with Nostradamus' prediction on it and had airplanes drop them all over Germany stating that they were bound to lose. All this to boost the Americans' morale. Its like this-- Suppose you watch a horoscope telling you "that you would be getting into trouble today so carry a knife with you." Resultantly, you do carry a knife along and are stopped and investigated for carrying a knife at a high security place and you get into trouble. He might be predicting or not, people are surely getting ideas on how to destroy humanity. The russian zombies, for example. 2-Nostradamus' predictions are vague and can befit any situation or calamity His predictions are written in poetic lines and are vaguely described. Its like this-- Suppose he wrote " a fire in the blue sea must arise and humankind will be dust". Now, people can connect it to anything, really. Evidently, if anything happens and anything causes damage in any ocean or sea-- it can be related to this prediction. Further, calamities always casue destruction to humankind, so that is a given. If none of us can actually understand any of his predictions until they happen, it is apparent that we use the present to justify his vague predictions. To convince you further, In reality, the word 'Queen' has been related to 'Corona' along with many other unjustified translations which means that anything can mean anything if you are imaginative enough. - - - I am not here to turn you against Nostradamus or the media or anything in particular. I just felt that people constantly saying that his predictions are true and we are all doomed for eternity can only make us lose hope. They might turn out to be true, but they might not, he was only human. I found some articles regarding the lack of credibility in his predictions and I found these points to make a lot of sense. He was not very famous with his counterparts because they believed he wasn't a legit astrologer. He bacame famous, courtesy, a queen who wanted to know her childrens' future. He has also written a cookbook and one of its contents was --" a love jam, made from mandrake apples, sparrows' blood and eyelets from the arms of an octopus among other strange things. The love jam would be so powerful that it would induce "a burning of her heart to perform the love-act" when the concoction combined with saliva in the midst of a kiss!" Isn't that fishy? He was also expelled from a couple of medical schools. You might say that I am doing this only because I am living in denial. I would not say yes, but I believe that it is a sincere attempt from my side to give ourselves some sort of assurance. People like me, are sometimes weak hearted and we need a little something to soothe us. I should also add, that none of these things are false and I believe no one can really predict what might just happen. (and if you really do believe him, he pridicted the end of humanity in 3700s, so lets chill and have a soda and stay positive!) Sending good vibes. XO
Why is being called BEAUTIFUL a compliment : a discussion
Relationship Stress / by CosmicCat17

...See more So basically, what we look like is not upto us... When people call us beautiful, it is because they think we've been given (or have been born with) a nice combination of facial features or body shape. We do feel nice about being called beautiful (not talking about 'hot' or 'sexy' and stuff). Now, there are two levels to this. On the outer level, being called beautiful shouldn't be appreciated. One must, if one has to, compliment the deeds of the person. One should be called brave, witty, smart, kind, inspirational... and so on, and not beautiful. Well, atleast this is what superficial feminists say on social media and obviously, also, trying-their-luck-at-writing instagram poets who think of themelves as feminists. But there is another level to this, according to me. We all have different standards of beauty, to start with. What 'I' find beautiful, may not be beautiful for you. The point here, is, that if someone says that you're beautiful, it means that you're their kind of beautiful, which is heart-touching on some level. Now, the very main point. You must have people around you with bald heads, protuding bellies or yellow teath. What happpens when you fall in love with a person who doesn't match the society's beauty standards. Or even if someone is practically average-looking but is 'the one' in your life. You wouldn't even know and you'd find their normal brown eyes a mug of coffee and you need every morning. You'd see their crooked teeth and think there's treasure hidden in between those crevices. Or see their fat tires and think that they remind you of your cozy teady bear you had back home... And you'd say, "Oh! You're so beautiful!" There is no reason to feel happy about this compliment. Somebody notices the beauty you hide somewhere behind your ear when you tuck your hair. You surely haven't designed your lips or your teeth, but when someone says that your smile is beautiful, its because, to them, it is. It gives them warmth and warmth is beautiful. I know the world is getting more and more practical everyday. And why not. But not everything should be scrutinised to fit the standards of superficial feminim. Everything must be questioned, sure... but not everything should be blamed. So the next time someone calls me beautiful, I wouldn't fret that they're complimenting something that I didn't earn. They are complimenting who I am and how I make them feel. That is what being beautiful means. That is exactly what I've earned. Do reply about what you feel. XOXO CosmicCat17
I am scared of the future. Will I always be a failure?

...See more I am scared of the future. I can see a pattern of me failing in whatever i set my mind and heart to. This pattern is telling me that I am nothing like the person I thought the world wanted. I am what I thought I am, but it is not enough to be what I want to be, apparently. The thing is, I don't know how to become sharp and strong such that i succeed.(i thought i was, but eh). The psychology of a winner. I fail/lose all the time and I am worried that I'll always be this person. I am unable to achieve anything, not even small goals. I am bad/mediocre at everything. When i was little I was sharp and bright and I used to win. But i guess it just doesn't work anymore. I am making it sound like a fussy kid, but this is serious and has been affecting me for over a year. I seam also severly distracted and upset about my void and vain love life. I suck at this thing too. I do all that it takes but it never takes me where it should. It is unsettling to know that i have never had any real person in the outside world love me, romantically. I don't know what all this is about. It was hard to even express it in words, the way I feel. What is wrong with me...I am not giving up but I need direction...
