OCD pressure on romantic relationships

...See more Hello everyone, I hope youre all doing well, and if you arent, I hope youll feel better soon. I was diagnosed with OCD, wow, almost a decade ago now. I was in grade ten, but my memories of what I now know to be persistent obsessions stretch back to about the age of 9. My OCD has almost always been invisible to friends and family—I tend to have mental compulsions accompanying my obsessions rather than physical ones. The obsessions themselves have changed and rotated year after year, but there has always been one common theme: my obsessions try to convince me that I am in some way a bad person. The worst kind of person, someone who has crossed some unredeemable line. In grades ten to twelve, for example, I was afraid I was going to hell because intrusive thoughts lashed out at God on my behalf—whom I no longer believe in. Now that Im older, different obsessions of this sort target people I have romantic feelings for to the point that I always fear I would be taking advantage of them by being with them. My OCD convinces me that something is wrong with me that would cause the person to reject me if they knew about it. My OCD also tells me that if I have sex with them without divulging whatever is wrong with me, this would constitute rape because I would be taking away their informed consent. I am feeling lonely as a result of this pattern, and I dont know how to break it. Has anyone experienced something similar? Does anyone have advice?

...See more My bf told me he was suicidal and absolutely refused to get help. I did everything I was supposed to, calling the crisis line and telling a member of his family as they told me to. I tried to make him feel loved, and encouraged him to see a professional because the lady on the crisis line said it was essential he speak to someone. His mom did nothing for several days other than speak to an RN. I knew my bf would feel betrayed I hadnt told him Id told her (Id wanted to give her time). I was very uncomfortable keeping that secret, so I told him after speaking with her the second time. He was livid, saying my best intentions were the reason we were still together and saying I put my own views above his privacy. He asked if I hadnt considered exposing his weakness would make him feel more worthless and then told if I could get a refund on my train ticket. Later he apologized and I said Id visit him, but realized I was very uncomfortable visiting because it would normalize the lack of response to his situation and he said my presence would stop his dad from reacting badly to things. My bf got angry and said (not unkindly) that if I couldnt bear his lack of plans to get help then we could break up. After more arguing, I told him I couldnt be in a position of ignoring things while he didnt get help, so we broke up. He called later saying I was his only purpose in life asking if he needed another. I said it was too much pressure, but I love him. What do I do?
