I'm just forever depressed, with extreme social anxiety. Humans are just souls inside an empty shell. You could've been inside any body, but your soul was born in this body. We naturally comply to societal rules where the ones who don't fit in, are seen as inferior. We're talking here about the mentally ill, disabled, neurodivergents.

...See more I def married into the wrong family. No matter how much my husband tells me that we're right for each other, it's just when I'm around his family I stick like a sore thumb. I'm extremely, shy, socially anxious, isolated and awkward, whereas my husband's family is always one of the most (if not the most) extroverted family at the party that's shouting, laughing out loud, and having a great time, while I'm always looking for places to hide away at parties, trying to avoid making my husband look bad that he's married to someone who can't even fend for themselves in social settings. What should I do? I'm tired of the same advice: you just have to build your confidence and speak up, just be open with your family about your situation, or set clear boundaries. I'm juat tired of dealing with this, my confidence sweeps the ground with each party

...See more Been watching this person open gifts for about an hour now and act like a Diva. It's an event where you rely purely on entertaining each other, meet stranger family, until it's time to redeem game rewards and open gifts, all to please the pregnant lady, to watch her indulge in front of everybody. Every baby showers has the same timeline. Tell me otherwise.

...See more I'm very shy when it comes to strangers, or my in-laws and I'm not sure how they would react to what I would say. I'm always scared of saying something rude or dumb, and afterwards feeling embarrassed about it. I always feel like I must filter myself when speaking to people so that I don't say the wrong thing. I'm afraid people will avoid interacting with me like back in high school, if I don't show enough competence, socially speaking. Can anyone offer advice or experience in this matter?
