What are baby showers even about?
Been watching this person open gifts for about an hour now and act like a Diva. It's an event where you rely purely on entertaining each other, meet stranger family, until it's time to redeem game rewards and open gifts, all to please the pregnant lady, to watch her indulge in front of everybody. Every baby showers has the same timeline. Tell me otherwise.

they can be repetitious
but baby showers are to celebrate a new mom, a new life coming in to the family, with loved ones coming together to sprinkle the family with gifts yes but to also help bringing baby home that much easier.
It's true, but it pisses me off that a family event where you reconnect with family and friends, celebrate motherhood, seemed more like "let's invite every family member down the tree, including those we never talk to, so that we can get as many gifts as possible" and that's what ended up happening. The party was like 3 parts: playing the most unamusing paper games in tables for 2 hours, then watching the mom open the gifts for a bit over an hour was apparently the main activity as people got up and straight up left, and then helping break down for like 2 hours. Like, this was such a self-centered party, and I'm not saying it because I want to be a diva. But I cannot see myself doing the same, I'd feel too ashamed of taking advantage of ppl. But I guess it's seen differently if you have enough charisma to please and entertain everybody, unfortunately I can't speak about that.
That’s understandable. I personally would prefer a more intimate setting.
