I moved for a fresh start, but nothing feels stable

...See more Moved to a new city 4 months ago to start fresh, and honestly nothing has settled the way I hoped. Not asking for a perfect life or some movie-like transformation, but it feels like every basic thing has been difficult, bad housing experiences, losing money because of landlords, poor sleep, work politics, loneliness, constantly feeling mentally “on edge.” Even when I try to improve things, workshops, going out, meeting people, spending money on experiences something still feels off. What’s confusing me is I can’t tell whether this is: * just a hard adjustment period, * the city genuinely not being right for me, * or something internal that would follow me anywhere. A lot of my close friends are married now or living their own lives in different places, which I completely understand, but it also makes this phase feel strangely isolating. I’m trying hard to make things work, but lately I keep wondering: how do you know whether to stay and push through a difficult phase, or accept that an environment is draining you? Curious if anyone else has gone through this after moving somewhere new.

Some phases don’t come with answers. You just learn how to sit through them.

...See more There’s something no one tells you about life after 30. It doesn’t break. It just… changes. Friends get busy. Conversations fade. And the life you worked for somehow feels unfamiliar. You sit in a new city, a new room, and wonder, why doesn’t this feel like peace? I’m in that phase right now. People say, “Take it one step at a time.” But thoughts don’t come one at a time. They come all at once. Loud. Uninvited. Some days, I just want this phase to pass. No answers. No clarity. Just… pass. But here’s what I’m learning. Maybe courage isn’t having it all figured out. Maybe it’s this. Showing up. Staying. Living through the mess without running away. So if you feel lost too… Stay. You don’t have to understand this chapter yet. Just don’t stop writing it.

Why Being Intuitive Feels Like a Disadvantage at Work
Work & Career / by Lynda30

...See more I recently realized that in many workplaces, success isn’t just about knowledge or skills. It’s about managing people. And for someone like me, that’s the hardest part. I’m very intuitive and sensitive to people’s energy. I notice small things tone, gestures, even the way someone behaves when they’re uncomfortable or hiding something. Sometimes I wish I didn’t notice so much, because seeing these things makes the workplace feel exhausting. I’m the kind of person who helps immediately when someone asks for support. But not everyone works that way. Some people avoid helping, some compete quietly, and sometimes there’s even subtle sabotage driven by insecurity or envy. Corporate environments can feel toxic for someone who values sincerity and peace of mind. Many times I think about leaving and finding something simpler, something calmer. But reality is complicated, we need money, and once you start earning well, it’s not easy to walk away. Sometimes I wonder if changing jobs would really change anything. Maybe different places have the same patterns, just with different people. I’m still trying to figure out how to deal with this. Maybe the answer isn’t becoming less intuitive, but learning how to protect my energy and set better boundaries. Because seeing deeply shouldn’t have to mean suffering deeply too.
