Having a hard time
Depression Support / by Mleighton

...See more My husband told me a little over a month ago that he wants to end our marriage. I’m currently 39 weeks pregnant with our only child and he’s going to be here any day now. Things have been really emotional and stressful since the falling out with my husband. For the last few weeks I’ve been trying to keep myself together and create a little sense of a normal routine in the house similar to before we broke up. But the last few nights have been hard. I sleep alone now and it’s been hard for me. I have bad dreams and I wake up to look for my husband for support and realize he’s not there. It crushes me every time. Last night I just didn’t want to sleep. I stayed up till 7 in the morning just crying and writing in my journal. I just feel so alone. I tried to reach out to my husband for some comfort this morning and to just be honest about my feelings which is really hard for me to do. He just said the same thing he’s been saying, that he isn’t meaning to hurt me but this is for the best. For us and our baby. That just wasn’t what I was looking for. I feel so starved for affection and comfort. I feel so sad and so angry all at the same time. A new year starts tomorrow and I’m so afraid of what it’s going to bring. I keep trying to stay positive and think about how amazing it will be to have my son but the thought of all the lonely days and nights, all the family traditions I wanted to start never happening, and the eventual day when my husband officially leaves the house is all so overwhelming. It’s so hard to focus on the positives when there’s so much uncertainty and sadness. I keep hoping my husband will change his mind and want to keep our little family together but I’m also trying not get my hopes up too high. I feel like him leaving is him being so selfish but I also feel like trying to keep him here is so selfish on my part. It’s hard to navigate when we both want different things. I don’t know what the right choice is and I feel like either just causes pain to one of us. What the best choice for our son really is. I’m worried about how this will make him feel as he grows up since this is what my childhood was like and I know how it affected me. I guess I’m posting this here cause I’m in need of some kind word and to know I’m not alone. None of our friends or family know about us splitting up so I don’t have anyone to talk to about it other than my therapist. Thank you to anyone who reads this.

...See more I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant with my first child and my husband who I’ve been with for ten years has hold me he wants to end our marriage. I’m so heartbroken and lost. All I’ve ever wanted was to have a family and now it’s ending before it even really began. He told 3 days ago that he wanted to end it and now I have just a few weeks to pull myself together enough to be a mom. I’m so scared to be alone. I don’t have a great support system on my side so I know there won’t be much help. I was so excited for this pregnancy. It was even planned and now I’m not excited to set up the nursery or even go into birth. I love my baby and I so badly to hold him in my arms but I just know that when that time comes it’s not going to be filled with the joy I thought it would be. I also feel so bad that all my baby is hearing right now is me crying and feeling all my pain. I think about all the firsts we were supposed to do together: reading him stories, singing him songs, cuddling together as a family. I think about all the holiday traditions I wanted to start together and now all of that is going away. I have to do them alone. I wanted to go through my birth unmedicated but now I don’t think I’ll have the mental strength to get through it. I’m so confused for what I want. I didn’t want another pregnancy to be filled with more pain and trauma. I’ve lost so much and when I finally thought I was going to finally have it all, it’s all getting taken away. I don’t feel ready to talk to my friends or family about this yet because to say it out loud makes it permanent and I’m not ready for that. I just want my husband back and my family together…

My husband wants to separate
Relationship Stress / by Mleighton

...See more Hi there! I’m going through a lot right now and am looking for some support and a way to talk about what’s going on. My husband just told me a couple days ago that he wants to end our relationship. We’ve been together 10 years and married for two. I am also currently 33 weeks pregnant with our first kid. I’ve been really excited to start our family together but I guess over that last few months my husband has been dealing with a lot of stress and serious depression. I encouraged him recently to take a solo vacation for him to have some time to himself hoping he would come back ready to have our baby and start our family. It did the opposite. He came back really depressed and started to distance himself from me. I know he hasn’t cheated on me and that there is not another person. We have just drifted apart for a few years now, stuck in a routine and ignoring problems, and he seems to finally have had enough. He said he’s think about our son and wanting the best for him and he thinks us being coparents is the best option for him. He says he will still support me and help as much as he can but that he can’t do it anymore. I’m absolutely heartbroken. I don’t want my family to end before it’s even started and I feel so alone. I don’t want our relationship to end but he seems so set on it. He just started therapy and I have my first appointment set up later this week but I’m having a hard time keeping it together and waiting. Sorry for the long post.
