Losing my daughter years ago

...See more I lost my daughter due to a car accident when she was 12 years old, which my brother was driving. He had called me to tell what happened shortly after. I’m now married again and my wife now has a daughter who’s 15, which I play a parenting role. But I often feel that I can’t protect her, or that I’m somehow gonna mess things up, and I don’t know how to get out of my head because of the past with my daughter. I definitely blame myself for allowing my brother to be anywhere near my daughter. My brother was in and out of jail for other reasons, stopped being reliable. But he got his sh-t together and I finally let him spend time with her, and this is what happened. I try to be the best I can. I feel like my daughter’s looking down on me, and is proud of me for how strong I’ve been lately, but I don’t think she’d be proud of the grudge I hold against my brother.

...See more Hi. My 14 year old daughter just recently came out to me and her mother as gay. She told us that she wants to make some major changes like changing her wardrobe/clothing choices, and also cutting her hair. The only problem is I’m against this, because of my conservative beliefs. My wife is fully supporting this but I just quite wrap my head around it. I know the answer may be simple, but I just need some advice on how to move forward with this.
