Losing my daughter years ago
I lost my daughter due to a car accident when she was 12 years old, which my brother was driving. He had called me to tell what happened shortly after. I’m now married again and my wife now has a daughter who’s 15, which I play a parenting role. But I often feel that I can’t protect her, or that I’m somehow gonna mess things up, and I don’t know how to get out of my head because of the past with my daughter.
I definitely blame myself for allowing my brother to be anywhere near my daughter. My brother was in and out of jail for other reasons, stopped being reliable. But he got his sh-t together and I finally let him spend time with her, and this is what happened.
I try to be the best I can. I feel like my daughter’s looking down on me, and is proud of me for how strong I’ve been lately, but I don’t think she’d be proud of the grudge I hold against my brother.
@NickM25 hugs you tightly ❤ I'm so sorry sweetie 😞 loosing a child is the hardest thing ever 😥 I believe she is in heaven looking down at you too ❤ and I bet she is very proud of her daddy ❤ you know she's never really gone, she comes with you everywhere in your heart.❤ Your new daughter is a special gift to you, just like your daughter was. Your not gonna mess up, let yourself be in the moment with her, allow yourself to love her, what happened to your daughter was not your fault. And history is not gonna repeat itself ok? It's completely normal to hate your brother for this. Although please know it was a accident and noones fault ❤ I'm right here for you ❤ you don't have to suffer it cry alone, I'm just a message away ❤ hugs you again. What was your daughters name? How was your day?
@NickM25
i lost a daughter too and losing a child is a pain like no other regardless of how you lose the child. Everything you feel is normal. The one thing I have to remind myself that my anger about Kristyn’s death doesn’t hurt anyone but me.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I am here for you and you are welcome to reach out to me anytime. Please be kind to yourself and cut yourself some slack about being angry.
@Kristynsmama hugs you tightly ❤❤
