Skiing can be dangerous

...See more This past weekend I went skiing for the first time this season. I'm not new to it, but I was pretty rusty from last year since I didn't have much time for it. I live in the Midwest, so there aren't that many good hills. The one I went to though wasn't too crowded because of the -26 degree windchill.  After going down a few times on the easier hills, I got to the advanced, thinking it would all come back to me. I was wrong.  I feel down multiple times, and on one occasion came down the hill so fast I crashed through one of the barriers at the bottom of the hill and fell onto the frozen river. Some people on the sidelines helped me out, and I was banged up pretty good. I did all of this with my back injury, which probably wasn't the best idea. I'm scared my leg (which I fell on after a bad fall), might be sprained. It's not my fault I wanted to go skiing in my current condition, right?

Injuries can take you out of both your activities as well as your mentalities.

...See more First, hi. I'm new here and really willing to talk to anyone wanting to know more or looking for support. I was recently injured due to overworking my back for my sport, which has limited by ability to progress or keep my current fitness levels for the past month. My parents both don't believe it's that big an issue, but my physical therapist says it could get worse. I've been led to believe this is somehow spiritual, but I've been a little lost in my faith recently. This injury sprawls other concerns, however.  I used to be close with many on my team, but now, I've been isolated due to my injury and not being able to exercise like I used to. It's agonizing, seeing all of my friends surpass me on workouts that I want to do next to them also. I feel left out and this injury doesn't feel any better. My overall mood and morale lowers with each time I go to practice, just to sit in an opposite corner to not be able to workout with my team.  This, ideally, should teach you self-motivation, right? Wrong. It has only shown me my dependency of others so far, and how much I really miss being involved. I'm really lost in what to do right now because no solution really makes sense. I feel like my schoolwork doesn't even seem as hard as trying to find a solution for this.  Thoughts?
