Hi. I'm part of the wiki team. Single male, never married. I have an M.A in Humanities. I paint as a hobby. I was injured in a truck driving accident several years ago and I'm a chronic pain patient. I had to go to the emergency room 6 times since my accident. I am confident I will make a 100% recovery. I enjoy being friends with people of all ages, but I struggled pretty severely between the ages of 17 and 21. I said that if I was ever in a position to help persons between ages 18-25 I would do so. An 18 year old is an adult, but where are they supposed to get $30,000 for a down payment on a house? They're not. I want to use whatever power I have to help the helpless. I want to be a voice for those who cannot speak up for themselves.

Every year 1825 persons between 18-25 die from alcohol related injuries.
Young adults in the same age category have an increased rate of suicide compared to the general population. They also have a higher rate of mental illness at any time in our nations history.

...See more I used to be normal and work a full time job in information technology. My company went out of business because of the recession. I came down with a neck injury for six months. I was hired by a consulting firm but they didn't have any clients for me. I got a job as a truck driver and was intending to return to I.T. after the recession was over, but was injured in an accident. I'm currently disabled and living in a group home and the landlords are bad people. I'm very worried and stressed about it every day. I'm on federal disability but I don't have enough money to move out. If I file a complaint with my social worker, the landord/lady is going to give me an eviction notice.

...See more I broke up with my girlfriend this past week. I was unhappy with her level of emotional support. Furthermore, since it was an internet only romance, it's much more difficult to discern what a person's true intentions are or exactly what they're thinking. We had radically different life plans. Some of the pics of her I found online were inconsistent, which raised a red flag. I just couldn't pretend I was interested in this person when they did so little to engage my emotions. Furthermore, she wanted me to move to Chicago which is totally not in my life plan. The woman follows the man, the man doesn't follow the woman. She attached herself very quickly to me, which I thought was unusual, but she was the best offer I've had in 6 years, so I thought I would just go with it. I'm disabled so I'm extremely dependent upon online contact with human beings.

...See more Today is my 6 year anniversary of being on 7 cups. I really appreciate the support I've been given, and I've learned a lot about how to help people who are struggling. My experience here has been absolutely invaluable. It's been lots of fun as well as a learning experience. The lessons I learned I can take with me for the rest of my life. Special thanks to PoliteOcean for being such a special friend.
